Behold Counseling
Marriage & Family Therapy

Kelley Kuit, LMFT
Founder of Behold Counseling | LMFT #139895
I received my Masters of Science in Counseling Psychology with concentrations in both Professional Clinical Counseling (PCC) and Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) at California Baptist University. My background includes working as an Advocate for Sexual Assault Survivors and an ABA Behavioral Interventionist during the course of my graduate program. From there, I completed my practicum treating Adults with Chronic Mental Illness before transitioning into a private practice setting, where I trained under a Certified EFT Therapist & Supervisor. I currently focus my clinical work on serving adults, college & graduate students, young married couples, Christians and people-of-faith learning how to be present for their emotions and in their relationships.
I don't ask you to do anything I haven't done. I've been through the counseling process both as an individual client who was suffering from anxiety/depression and as a partner in a struggling marriage. The journey is rarely easy, but things worth doing in life rarely are.
I became passionate about therapy through my own healing journey post-college and in the earlier stages of marriage with my husband, whom I've been with for over 10 years. My lived experience as a born-again Christian, married woman, child of immigrants, and a healer who is committed to her own emotional process impacts the way I support my clients in the therapeutic relationship. I get the nuances and challenges of experiencing invisibility, facing trauma, unhealed relationships, church hurt, emotional neglect, challenges of being in a helping profession, relationships in different stages of dating/engagement/marriage, navigating relationships in immigrant families, and more.
My Approach
My Approach is grounded in attachment theory, exploring how early attachment and upbringing shape our sense of self and inform how we operate in relationships with others and in our environment. It involves breaking down unhelpful thoughts and patterns that stem from these experiences and exploring the underlying emotions that drive these beliefs. I also emphasize the use of mindfulness, learning to stay present with how our bodies respond and interpret emotional cues, developing openness, and building self-compassion. My goal is to facilitate profound and long-lasting change, fostering a sense of connection, security, and wholeness
